The Girl In The Dream

The recipe for Martinis has undergone may changes since its creation, the most prevalent being the ratio of gin to vermouth. Early recipes called for as much dry vermouth as dry gin, making a martini that would hardly be acceptable today.
Martinis these days are preferably stirred, not shaken. In the past, experts have differed on this point, so although this recipe calls for stirring the drink, you might want to experiment with shaking it. This recipe makes a "Marvelous " Martini. I am a witness.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 fl. oz. Gin

  • 1 tablespoon Dry Vermouth

  • 1 or more Green Cocktail Olive(s) or 1 Lemon twist, for garnish

    Making the Martini:

    1. Pour the gin and vermouth into a mixing glass two-thirds full of ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add the desired garnish.
